Agno released v3.1.7, which adds default tool call limits to OSManager and switches CartesiaTools to sonic-3.6. The release also fixes bugs in Company Routines, Postgres metrics, the v3 sessions-to-runs migration, and sandbox checkpoints.

OSManager now accepts a tool_call_limit, which defaults to 8 per coordinator run and counts delegations, and a member_tool_call_limit, which defaults to 24 per specialist invocation. Setting either limit to None restores unlimited tool use, as before.

CartesiaTools now defaults to sonic-3.6 instead of sonic-2. Cartesia sunsets the sonic-2 snapshots, the previous default, on October 20, 2026.

Several fixes are included. Editing a Product's metadata no longer unlinks its Routines, and SchedulerTools and Studio can no longer change Company-managed schedules. Postgres metrics now work past the driver's query parameter limit, and the v3 sessions-to-runs migration streams rows so large tables no longer run out of memory. Sandbox checkpoints also succeed when a workspace contains a Python virtualenv, and cancelling an S3 checkpoint open removes the downloaded copy.

## Why it matters if you build agents

If you run OSManager coordinators, tool use is now capped by default, so long agent chains may stop earlier unless you set the limits to None. Check any workflow that depends on more than 8 coordinator tool calls or 24 specialist calls.

If you use CartesiaTools without pinning a model, voice output will switch to sonic-3.6. Pin the model explicitly if you need the sonic-2 behavior before Cartesia retires those snapshots.
