Anthropic announced the reporting tools on Wednesday, aimed at enterprise customers who want a more detailed view of the value they get from their token spend. Managers can view a team's work over a chosen date range, including what the team produced, what it cost, and where its workflows broke down. The data draws on internal analytics and employee surveys.
Anthropic says it will not use this data for model training by default. The reports also include recommendations for improving results. Anthropic is additionally creating pooled group budgets so teams can manage token spending more effectively.
The move follows financial figures Anthropic shared with investors this week, which included an operating profit in the second quarter and 900% net revenue retention. A Jellyfish report on agentic coding tools used by 276,000 of its customers found that spending on Claude Code and other Anthropic-based tools has grown 10x since the start of the year.
Why it matters if you build agents
Teams building agents on Anthropic models will be able to get usage and cost breakdowns by team without building their own tracking. Those reports may help justify spending to finance leads who are asking about return on investment.
Switching model providers may become more costly once a team has built workflows around a provider's tooling, according to a Jellyfish analyst quoted in the story. Developers should check how the new reports and budgets fit into their cost monitoring.
