Anthropic's S-1, filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission on Monday, says more than half of customers spending at least $100,000 a year now use both the Claude platform and a first-party app such as Claude Code or Cowork, up from about 30% at the end of last year. As of September 30, the company counted more than 11,900 customers at that spending level and about 250 spending $10 million or more annually.
The filing describes an integrated approach across models, the developer platform and applications. In the third quarter, the highest-spending 5% of Claude Enterprise customers who used Claude Code spent about 20 times as much per month as the average enterprise user who did not use the tool. Anthropic sells through AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure under a joint go-to-market approach, holding the direct customer contract and paying each cloud provider a fee.
The filing reports revenue of $16.3 billion for the first half of 2026, compared with $1.2 billion in the same period last year. It also warns that the cloud providers increasingly see Anthropic as a competitor, which could make it harder to secure the compute it needs, and that losing or reducing spending by its largest customers could hurt the business. Anthropic did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Why it matters if you build agents
Developers building on the Claude API should expect Anthropic to keep moving its own apps such as Claude Code and Cowork into accounts that start with the API, which matters if your product overlaps with them. The filing also suggests compute access through AWS, Google Cloud and Microsoft Azure could be less certain, so teams relying on those clouds to run Claude workloads should plan for possible capacity constraints.
