Buddy Works launches Sandboxes, isolated Linux machines for AI coding agents

Buddy Works has launched Sandboxes, which give AI coding agents their own isolated Linux machines. Agents can build, run, test and fix apps there without touching a developer's local setup.

Buddy Works, which offers hosting, pipelines and deployment on its Buddy platform, has launched Sandboxes on Product Hunt. Each Sandbox is an isolated Linux machine where an AI coding agent can install dependencies, run databases, build apps and execute tests. Files, packages and build caches persist between sessions.

Each machine comes with root access, Docker, SSH and a public URL, so the output of an agent's work can be opened in a browser. Teams can create one Sandbox per task, branch or pull request. Agents can manage them through MCP, the CLI, an SDK or an API.

The launch page lists free options. It does not give further pricing details, and the page's maker comment describes the product as a way to run coding agents without exposing a laptop to them.

Why it matters if you build agents

Agents can now build and test code in a dedicated Linux environment instead of a developer's laptop or a container that starts from scratch each time. Developers can spin up one Sandbox per branch or PR and have their agent drive it through MCP or the CLI. Check the pricing and any usage limits directly with Buddy Works before relying on it for longer runs.
