Cline has released CLI v3.0.74 with fixes for running tasks, Hub health checks, retries and Gemini requests. The update also refreshes the model catalog, adding two providers, dropping three and changing default models for many providers.

Opening a task already running in another Cline app now attaches to that run instead of starting a second one that could not be stopped. Requests waiting on an app that closes mid-task now fail with a clear message rather than hanging. cline hub status and cline doctor no longer hang on a frozen Hub, which is now reported as not running after a 3-second health check timeout.

Model requests now retry at most 3 times instead of 5, and a dropped connection after only reasoning output is retried. Gemini API keys no longer send native Google Search, which had caused 429 quota errors on free-tier keys with Gemini 3 and later. The catalog adds Liquid Inference and Munito AI, drops CrofAI, iFlow and Llama, and ClinePass now defaults to Kimi K3.1 Pro.

Auto-compaction skips models with an unknown context limit and no longer reruns every few tool calls. ask_question now stops the model from continuing after an option is picked, rejects empty answers, and run_commands with an empty command list returns an error.

## Why it matters if you build agents

If your agent attaches to Cline tasks or uses Gemini keys on free tiers, these changes alter failure behavior, so re-test hang and quota handling. Retry counts drop from 5 to 3, so agents that relied on more retries should handle errors sooner. Check your default model settings, since many providers now default to different models.
