Cline has released SDK v0.2.0, which changes how sessions reattach to running work, how model requests retry, and how Gemini search is handled. The release also updates the AI SDK and refreshes the model catalog and default models.

Starting a session that already has a run in progress now reattaches to the live session instead of replacing its runtime. A start that includes a prompt during an active run is rejected. Model requests retry at most three times after the first attempt, down from five, and failed attempts are recorded in Langfuse traces.

The gemini provider no longer sends native Google Search, which had caused 429 quota errors on free-tier keys with Gemini 3 and dropped Cline tools on Gemini 2.x. Vertex keeps native search. Auto-compaction no longer runs when the model's input limit is unknown, and the size estimate now uses the messages as they are actually sent.

The release updates the AI SDK to ai 7.0.136 and refreshes the model catalog from 7,041 to 6,457 models. It adds the Liquid Inference, Munito AI and Munito AI (EU) providers and drops CrofAI, iFlow and Llama. ClinePass now defaults to Kimi K3.1 Pro, and default models change for 56 other providers.

## Why it matters if you build agents

Code that starts a session on an already running agent will get the live run back, but a start that includes a prompt mid-run now fails and needs handling. Retry logic should assume at most three retries per model request. If your Gemini setup relied on native Google Search, the gemini provider no longer sends it, so check your provider choice.
