Cloudflare's @cloudflare/think 0.21.0 replaces Think's workspace with a Workspace from the new @cloudflare/computer peer dependency. It also removes several workspace tool helpers and the @cloudflare/shell dependency, and deprecates the older code execution helpers.

The release, published on 20 October, changes how Think sets up its workspace. The workspace is now a Workspace from @cloudflare/computer, which is added as a new peer dependency. Workspace tools now come from the computer package's createAITools, and exec can use every backend the workspace offers.

Several APIs are removed. createWorkspaceTools, workspaceBash and the @cloudflare/think/tools/workspace import path are gone. Think also no longer depends on @cloudflare/shell, and the execute tool's state option is removed. createExecuteTool and createExecuteRuntime are deprecated in favour of exec with a ws:tools module.

Two patch-level fixes are included. Chat recovery now seals a turn after chatRecovery.maxInterruptedAttempts interrupted attempts, which defaults to 5, so a turn that hits the Durable Object memory limit on every run stops retrying forever; maxOomRetries is deprecated. Scheduled task occurrences also reuse one Intl.DateTimeFormat per timezone, which the changelog says substantially cuts the CPU cost of each occurrence.

## Why it matters if you build agents

Code that imports createWorkspaceTools, workspaceBash or @cloudflare/shell will need changes before upgrading, and code that passes the execute tool's state option must drop it. Teams should install @cloudflare/computer alongside Think and move to exec with a ws:tools module, since the older helpers are now deprecated.

Long-running chat turns that repeatedly exceed the Durable Object memory limit will now stop after five interrupted attempts instead of retrying indefinitely.
