Context.dev launches a web scraping API for agents and apps

Context.dev has launched Scrape Anything, a single API that turns any URL into Markdown, HTML, screenshots or structured data. The company says it handles rendering, blocking, proxies and retries so teams do not have to run their own scraping stack.

Developers send a URL to the Context.dev API and get back the page as clean Markdown or HTML, with screenshots or structured data available as well. The service takes care of page rendering, blocks, proxies, retries and extraction on its side, so builders do not need to maintain scraping infrastructure.

The product also covers other web data tasks. Its brand endpoints pull logos, colors, fonts and social links from any domain, and it can crawl sitemaps and resolve transaction descriptors. Typed SDKs are available for TypeScript, Python and Ruby.

The Product Hunt listing says more than 5,000 businesses use Context.dev, including Mintlify, Daily.dev and Ferndesk.com, and that most teams integrate the API in under 10 minutes. This is the fourth launch from the company.

Why it matters if you build agents

Agent builders can replace a self-run scraper and proxy setup with one call that returns Markdown suited to LLM input, which reduces cleanup work on pages cluttered with navigation and footers.

Reviewers on the listing say brand color extraction still needs refinement and that it is unclear how changes to a site's robots.txt or terms affect an existing pipeline. Test those cases before relying on the service in production.
