E2B adds idempotency keys to sandbox creation in version 2.61.0

E2B has released e2b@2.61.0, and its only listed change is a new optional idempotency key for Sandbox.create. The key is sent as an Idempotency-Key header when a sandbox is created, in both the JavaScript and Python SDKs.

E2B has released e2b@2.61.0, and the release notes list one change, a minor feature. The new option is called idempotencyKey in JavaScript and idempotency_key in Python, and it is passed to Sandbox.create.

When the option is set, the SDK sends an Idempotency-Key header on sandbox creation. Keys must contain between 1 and 255 characters, limited to lowercase ASCII letters, digits or hyphens. The release was published on 26 October.

The release is listed as the latest version on the E2B GitHub repository.

Why it matters if you build agents

Agent code that retries Sandbox.create after a timeout or network error can now attach a stable key, which is sent as an Idempotency-Key header. Developers should check that their keys meet the stated format rules before relying on the option in production.
