The main addition is a dnsServers network option, called dns_servers in Python. It sets which DNS servers a sandbox can reach when allowOut contains a domain. If the option is left out, the default 8.8.8.8 applies, a list of IPs allows only those servers, and an empty list allows none. According to the changelog, the setting only opens the firewall and does not change the sandbox's /etc/resolv.conf.
updateNetwork and update_network reset the setting to the default when it is omitted, like the other fields, while getInfo and get_info report it when it is set. The release also deprecates the apiUrl and api_url options, the sandboxUrl and sandbox_url options, and the E2B_API_URL and E2B_SANDBOX_URL environment variables. They keep working for now and will be removed in the next major version.
Sandbox traffic on e2b-tango.dev, e2b-juliett.dev and foxtrot-2.e2b.dev now goes through the unified https://sandbox. endpoint. The release also fixes a crash in the build error path when reason.step is not a number.
Why it matters if you build agents
Agents that need outbound access to a specific domain can now choose which DNS servers the sandbox uses instead of relying on the default.
Code that sets the API or sandbox URL options, or their environment variables, should move off them before the next major version removes them.
If your code hardcodes hosts on the three affected domains, check whether it should switch to the unified sandbox endpoint.
