E2B has released version 2.61.0 of its Python SDK, @e2b/python-sdk, with one new option for creating sandboxes. The option lets developers attach an idempotency key to each Sandbox.create call.

E2B has published @e2b/python-sdk 2.61.0 on GitHub. The release lists a single change under minor changes, and it adds a new option to sandbox creation. The release page is dated 26 October and points to commit ee355b7.

The option is called idempotencyKey in JavaScript and idempotency_key in Python, and it is passed to Sandbox.create. When it is set, the SDK sends an Idempotency-Key header on sandbox creation. Keys must be 1 to 255 characters long and may contain only lowercase ASCII letters, digits or hyphens.

The entry is the only change described for this version. The release notes do not say how the server handles repeated keys, so the exact retry behavior is not covered here.

## Why it matters if you build agents

Agents that retry sandbox creation after a network error or timeout can now attach a key to the request, which gives them a way to avoid starting duplicate sandboxes. Developers should check the release's key format before using generated keys. Because the release notes do not describe server-side behavior, test retries against a real sandbox before relying on them in production.
