The release adds guided setup for the AI gateway, which now shows per-tool setup instructions after a gateway key is created. Self-hosted deployments gate the gateway on the LANGFUSE_AI_GATEWAY_DEPLOYED variable, and LANGFUSE_AI_GATEWAY_PUBLIC_URL can override the gateway URL shown in the web interface.
Tracing now shows requested skill loads and file paths, and adds available and loaded skill name filters. MCP users can create skill versions and manage their labels and tags. Topics can now be written as rules over a target trace transcript, and a trace's topics appear in a hover card in the trace header.
Other changes include a billing check that compares legacy billing counts with the billable units ledger and a fix that uses tags from all observations for events-based traces. Editing annotation scores now bumps updated_at, and Docker images are now attributed to Langfuse.
Why it matters if you build agents
Teams running self-hosted Langfuse with the AI gateway need LANGFUSE_AI_GATEWAY_DEPLOYED set for the gateway to appear. Developers debugging agents that use skills can filter traces by the skills that were available or loaded. Anyone who edits annotation scores should note that updated_at now changes on edit.
