LinearB has announced Agentic Studio, a new offering that unifies data from Git repositories and project tracking tools into a context layer for human engineers and autonomous coding agents. The company is also rolling out an early-access "effort skill" that adjusts how much work a coding agent puts into a pull request.

LinearB, an application development intelligence startup, said it is targeting review backlogs caused by AI coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex. Its Software Engineering Benchmarks report analyzed more than 2.7 million pull requests across 250 organizations and found that AI-assisted pull requests are nearly 2.6 times larger and wait more than five times longer for review. AI agent code changes are merged 79% of the time at elite organizations, compared with 92% for human-authored code.

Agentic Studio normalizes data and insights from Git repositories and project tracking tools into a unified context layer. Engineers can ask plain-language questions to find root causes and get recommendations. Through the Model Context Protocol, the product feeds historical context such as rework rates, past production incidents and code ownership to AI agents. LinearB says Kraken used its MCP integration to find that timezone misalignments, not pull request size, were slowing code reviews, and cut review times by more than half within four months.

LinearB is developing more agent skills. The first, an effort skill, is in early access and analyzes a pull request's complexity, rework history and risk to set how much computational effort a coding agent spends on it. LinearB plans to add skills for automated code review, merge governance and token cost optimization in the coming months.

## Why it matters if you build agents

Agents that open pull requests can pull review-relevant history such as rework rates, past incidents and code ownership through MCP, rather than working blind on proposed changes.

Teams building coding agents should check how the effort skill's risk and complexity scoring would affect token use and testing depth on their own pull requests once it moves beyond early access.
