OpenCode v1.19.0, published by the anomalyco/opencode team on 11 October, gives users a route to OpenCode 2. Running opencode upgrade --major starts that upgrade. The terminal interface no longer installs updates automatically; users run /update to install updates or to move to OpenCode 2.
On the bugfix side, the release allows the OpenAI ultrafast service tier. It also validates PTY connection origins and tickets before checking whether a PTY exists.
The release notes credit one community contributor, dc85, for documentation changes to the Zen docs, including adding Exo Free and removing Fledge Alpha Free. They also list a stats fix that attributes exo usage to an unknown provider.
Why it matters if you build agents
Teams that run OpenCode in scripts or shared setups should not expect new versions to arrive on their own, so they need to run /update or schedule the upgrade themselves.
Developers who use the OpenAI ultrafast service tier can now select it in OpenCode, and integrations that open PTY connections should check that their origins and tickets pass the stricter validation.
