The anomalyco/opencode project released v2.2.2 on 29 October, enabling the experimental_image_generate tool by default when a connected provider supports image models. The release also adds faster worktree selection, a unified comment editor for quotes and annotations, and new SDK inputs for scheduling.

Release v2.2.2 of opencode makes image generation available without extra setup. When a connected provider supports image models, agents can call experimental_image_generate, and its preferred model is set through experimental.image_generate.model. The change is listed as a core improvement in the release notes.

On the SDK side, client.experimental.schedule.create accepts new if and until inputs, and schedule check results and output fields were added. SessionInfo.time.busy now exposes the start time of a session's latest execution, and prompt file attachments can carry optional source metadata.

The desktop app gained a side-panel tab menu, a compact menu for user-message actions, and a redesigned todo pill. A new question UI is available under Settings, Experimental, while classic question cards remain the default. Fixes cover persistent terminal requests whose working directory no longer exists and media preserved during session forks and imports.

## Why it matters if you build agents

If you build agents on opencode, image generation may now run in sessions without any config change, so check which providers are connected before assuming it is off. Scheduled runs can now stop on conditions through if and until, and the busy start time gives you a field to track per session. Persistent terminal requests for missing directories are now rejected, so code that relied on them should handle that error.
