OpenHands releases v1.35.0 with sidebar, file download and startup changes

OpenHands has released v1.35.0, adding a Download button to the Files tab, a drag-to-resize sidebar, and server-side conversation tags for workspace and repository metadata. The release also includes many fixes and performance changes covering conversation startup, reconnection and Cloud history loading.

The release notes list new features on the home page and in the sidebar. Users can now have the cloud repository selection remembered and cleared, and the sidebar edge can be dragged to change its width. Workspace and repository metadata are now stored as server-side conversation tags, and sidebar pin and archive state is kept the same way.

Automations gained an Events webhook sources view, a list of each event source's own event types, and an editable keep_alive setting on the automation detail page. The Files tab has a new Download button, and organization MCP servers can be configured from Settings > MCP.

Much of the changelog covers fixes and performance work around conversation startup and Cloud history. The project also notes that its macOS app is not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID, so macOS may label a downloaded build as damaged. The release notes give an xattr command to clear the Gatekeeper quarantine flag after moving the app to Applications.

Why it matters if you build agents

Developers who run OpenHands for coding agents get clearer session state, since conversation tags and startup progress are now saved and shown in the app. Anyone with event-triggered automations should check the changed Events and keep_alive settings. Teams installing the macOS build may need to clear the quarantine flag before it opens.
