OpenHands released v1.34.0 on 27 October, adding a per-conversation Docker runtime and a Settings page for runtime options. The release also includes a set of bug fixes, documentation updates and internal refactors.

The main feature in the v1.34.0 release is a per-conversation Docker runtime in the Canvas interface, along with a new Settings → Runtime page. Other additions include the ability to filter and edit automation tags, and a sidebar option to start a new conversation in the row's sandbox.

The fixes cover several areas, including handling of session API keys for the static server, OAuth relay attempts, and keeping the automation KV secret readable after session-key rotation. Security work in this release stops untrusted markdown from setting rel="opener" or an arbitrary target.

The release also raises the minimumAgentServer compatibility version to 1.57.0. The changelog notes that the macOS app is not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID, so macOS may flag downloads as damaged until the quarantine flag is cleared with xattr.

## Why it matters if you build agents

Teams running OpenHands-based agents can now give each conversation its own Docker runtime instead of sharing one setup. Anyone pinning an agent server version should check that it is at least 1.57.0 before upgrading. macOS users may need to clear the Gatekeeper quarantine flag after installing the app.
