Release v1.36.0 of OpenHands, dated 2026-11-05, has a large set of automation changes. Templates can now open without the missing-integration notice, and the setup assistant suggests default templates and knows the instance's event sources. Data Center templates ship with an updated extensions package, and template setup can list Bitbucket Data Center and Azure DevOps repositories.
Other features include a Connect Git step in the setup guide, which leads into a tour of the MCP page, and self-hosted GitHub templates now point users to MCP or token setup. Chat fixes include keeping Stop visible while an ACP turn runs after a fresh connect.
The release also includes bug fixes for Windows workspace files and onboarding, along with dependency updates and a move to Node 24.22.1 in CI, the desktop bundle and Docker. The changelog notes that the macOS app is not yet signed with an Apple Developer ID, so Gatekeeper may flag a downloaded build as damaged, and it gives a command to clear the quarantine flag. Signing and notarization is tracked separately.
Why it matters if you build agents
Developers who use OpenHands automations can now pick Bitbucket Data Center and Azure DevOps repositories in template setup and run automations as a service account in Canvas.
Teams installing the macOS build should follow the changelog's quarantine step if Gatekeeper blocks the app. If you build the project yourself, check that your CI and Docker setup uses Node 24.22.1.
