Paddock offers Linux computers and sandboxes for AI agents on your own VPS

Paddock, a free and open source project released under the MIT license, gives each AI agent its own Linux computer or a locked-down sandbox. It runs on a single VPS that the user owns.

Paddock launched on Product Hunt in 2026 as a way to give each AI agent its own environment. Each agent gets either a full Linux computer or a restricted sandbox, and all of them run on one virtual private server the user controls. The project is free and licensed under MIT.

The maker, Antonio Santiago Dueñas, describes Paddock as an open source version of a sandbox for agents. A commenter on the listing says the approach is a tidier alternative to running many agents in Docker containers, and says each box can be snapshotted every minute so it can be rolled back.

Why it matters if you build agents

Developers who give agents shell access or credentials can isolate each one in its own Linux environment on a server they control, instead of sharing one machine. The MIT license lets teams read and modify the code.

The Product Hunt listing does not explain how isolation or snapshots are implemented, so teams should check the project's website and code before relying on them.
