Papermark, an open source data room aimed at dealmakers, has launched Data Rooms 2.0. According to the Product Hunt listing, a room can be set up in under 60 seconds and includes encryption, file permissions, built-in Q&A, a full audit log and analytics. Rooms can be fully white-labeled on a custom domain.
The launch adds agent access. Users can let agents create and run a room through an API, a CLI or an MCP server. The makers give an example of asking Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT for a buy-side M&A room and getting back folders, permissions and a share link.
Papermark is open source and offered as both a hosted service and a self-hosted option. The product page lists it among file storage, fundraising and e-signature tools and shows a 4.7 rating from 7 reviews.
Why it matters if you build agents
If your agents handle deal or fundraising documents, Papermark now exposes room creation, permissions and share links through an API, CLI and MCP server. Decide what permissions an agent gets before it can create or share a room, since the audit log and analytics record who opened what. Self-hosting is available if the documents must stay on your own infrastructure.
