Stripe lets agents analyze its data through MCP, Queries API and Reports API

Stripe now lets compatible agents such as Claude and Cursor access its analytics data through its MCP or directly through the Queries API and Reports API, for all Stripe users. The company says each analysis can be checked by inspecting the SQL behind it and editing the query.

Stripe says agents such as Claude and Cursor can connect to its analytics data through its MCP, or call the Queries API and Reports API directly. The Reports API provides a modeled schema of more than 300 tables with built-in guidance on how agents should use them. Stripe says this helps produce more accurate analysis.

Agents can be directed to track metrics such as monthly recurring revenue and attribute changes to upgrades, downgrades and churn. They can also combine Stripe data with information from other connected tools, such as a PostHog connector in Claude. For each analysis, developers can view the underlying SQL and edit the query.

The Queries API is free until January 31, 2027, after which usage is billed per credit with no monthly subscription. The Reports API will remain free.

Why it matters if you build agents

Agents connected to Stripe's MCP can run reconciliation, MRR and fraud analyses without building their own data pipelines, and the SQL behind each result can be reviewed before it reaches reporting. Teams relying on the Queries API should plan for per-credit charges once the free period ends after January 31, 2027.
