Vercel CLI now includes Spend Management, letting teams view, set and remove a budget with the vercel budgets command. A --pause flag pauses production deployments across all projects when spend reaches 100 percent of the budget.

Vercel has added Spend Management to its CLI, so team members can view and change a team's budget from the terminal. Running vercel budgets shows the current spend and the active budget, and scripts and agents can read the same output. The budget is the same On-Demand Budget shown in the team's billing settings.

Setting a budget does not stop usage on its own. The --pause flag pauses production deployments of all projects once spend reaches 100 percent of the budget. A budget can be removed with vercel budgets remove.

Alert history is available through vercel budgets alerts, which accepts --since, --until, --limit and --json filters. A bare vercel budgets prints the three most recent alerts. Managing budgets requires the Owner or Billing role, and Spend Management is included at no extra cost for Pro teams and for Enterprise teams on the Flexible Commitment plan.

## Why it matters if you build agents

Agents and scripts can now check a team's current spend and active budget from the CLI before triggering deployments, rather than relying on the dashboard. Pausing is opt-in: a budget set without --pause only records a limit and does not halt production deployments. Anyone who changes budgets needs the Owner or Billing role.
