Token Pass credit applies to included model usage whether a request authenticates with an API key, an OIDC token, or fx login. Developers can still create a Token Pass key from the dashboard or the CLI, but such keys are scoped only to featured models and providers.
Requests served through the Token Pass provider remain Zero Data Retention. Fallback requests follow the team's ZDR setting, so with team-wide ZDR enabled they route only to ZDR providers.
The change is available now for Token Pass subscribers on Pro teams. Developers who created a Token Pass key during setup can switch to a standard API key or OIDC token to get fallback. Token Pass keys still stop working until the next billing period.
Why it matters if you build agents
Agents using standard API keys or OIDC tokens will keep running after Token Pass credit is exhausted, drawing on team AI Gateway credits instead.
Agents that rely on a Token Pass key will still stop when credit runs out, so builders on that key type should switch keys if they need uninterrupted model access.
Teams with ZDR enabled should confirm that fallback routing to ZDR providers meets their data handling needs.
