AI SDK workflow 2.0.90 adds sandbox file methods and changes relative path handling

The @ai-sdk/workflow package 2.0.90 adds stat, listDirectory and deleteFile to Experimental_SandboxSession. It also changes how relative paths resolve in sandbox sessions, which affects agents that run commands in them.

The @ai-sdk/workflow package reached version 2.0.90 on 30 October, according to the GitHub release page for vercel/ai. The main change adds stat, listDirectory and deleteFile to Experimental_SandboxSession, so code can inspect and remove files through the session.

The release also makes relative paths resolve against the sandbox's working directory in every session method. The just-bash and Vercel Sandbox adapters implement the new methods, and both now resolve a relative workingDirectory for run and spawn against that directory.

The just-bash adapter also now rejects writes to a directory, where it previously replaced the directory with a file. The release updates ai to 7.0.158, @ai-sdk/provider-utils to 5.0.72 and @ai-sdk/provider to 4.0.35.

Why it matters if you build agents

Agents using the sandbox session can list, inspect and delete files without running extra shell commands. Code that passes relative paths to run or spawn should be checked, since those now resolve against the sandbox's working directory. Writes to a path that is a directory on the just-bash adapter will now fail rather than overwrite it.
