Composio releases @composio/core 0.28.0 with changed retry behavior and client API removals

Composio released @composio/core 0.28.0, which requires @composio/client 2.0.0 and no longer retries POST and PATCH requests such as tool execution and trigger creation. The release also removes several client methods and adds experimental custom toolkit options and polling trigger settings.

The minor release of @composio/core 0.28.0 requires @composio/client 2.0.0. POST and PATCH requests, including tool execution and trigger creation, are now sent once and are not retried after a lost response or a retryable status. Other requests keep their retries.

Several client APIs were removed. The client returned by getClient() no longer has request(), Composio.Composio, Composio.DEFAULT_TIMEOUT or the resource classes, so callers should use the raw get, post, patch, put and delete verbs instead. sessionConfigs.list() no longer sends search, which the Composio API removed, and setting that option now logs a warning.

New additions include composio.experimental.customToolkits.create() and update(), along with type and pollingInterval options for triggers.create(). Local file uploads now take a MIME type from the file extension instead of application/octet-stream, and the release includes matching patch updates for @composio/slim and @composio/anthropic.

Why it matters if you build agents

Agent code that depends on automatic retries for tool execution or trigger creation now needs its own retry handling, because a lost response will not trigger a resend. Code that calls request(), the resource classes or sessionConfigs.list() with search needs updating before moving to this version. Local file uploads should now carry the correct type for tools that check it, such as Canva's design import.
