Kimi K3.1 Pro now available from more ZDR providers on Vercel AI Gateway

Vercel's AI Gateway now serves Kimi K3.1 Pro and its higher-speed variant, Kimi K3.1 Pro Highspeed, from more Zero Data Retention providers. Until now, Moonshot AI was the only provider offering either model.

Kimi K3.1 Pro and Kimi K3.1 Pro Highspeed are now available on AI Gateway from more Zero Data Retention (ZDR) providers. Until this change, Moonshot AI was the only provider serving either model.

Both models have a 1M-token context window and accept image input. The source describes K3.1 Pro as an improvement over earlier Kimi models in coding, 3D modeling and financial analysis, and says it can handle long agent runs. Highspeed is aimed at interactive work such as coding agents, where response time matters.

Developers can call moonshotai/kimi-k3.1-pro through the AI SDK, the Chat Completions, Responses and Anthropic Messages APIs, or a coding agent connected to AI Gateway. Setting zeroDataRetention in the gateway provider options applies ZDR to a single request, while a dashboard setting applies it to all team requests. With either on, requests fail rather than routing to a provider without a ZDR agreement.

Why it matters if you build agents

Agent builders who need ZDR for Kimi K3.1 Pro can now route requests to more than one provider rather than relying solely on Moonshot AI.

Teams that must keep data out of provider retention should set zeroDataRetention per request or enable ZDR in the dashboard, since a request with no ZDR provider available will fail rather than fall back.

Coding agent users can select moonshotai/kimi-k3.1-pro or the Highspeed variant after upgrading the Vercel CLI and running the coding agents setup command.
