OpenAI releases GPT-Image-2.6 Flare and Sunburst image models

OpenAI has released Images 2.6 together with the GPT-Image-2.6 Flare and GPT-Image-2.6 Sunburst API models. According to MarkTechPost, Flare can generate an image in as little as 6 seconds.

Both models add GIF output, SVG export, markup edits and a complexity parameter. The report does not cover pricing, rate limits, availability or how each feature behaves in practice.

Agents that produce visual assets can now request animated GIFs and SVG files from the image API, which may remove a conversion step from some pipelines.
