Hy4 is available on AI Gateway under the model name tencent/hy4, with the 50% discount running through December 31, 2026. Vercel says the model supports reasoning, tool calling, structured outputs and image input, and has a 1M-token context window for work across a codebase or many documents.
According to the changelog, Hy4 is the first Hy model with vision, able to pick out fine detail in an image and read complex charts. It also supports computer use in both command-line and graphical interfaces. Compared with Hy4 Preview, the changelog says it follows instructions more closely and handles long context, long-running tasks and deep research better.
Developers can call the model through the AI SDK using the model string tencent/hy4. To use it in Claude Code, Codex, Cursor and other coding agents, they can install the latest Vercel CLI and run npx vercel ai-gateway setup, then select the model in the agent. Vercel also says AI Gateway passes through provider pricing with no markup and no platform fee on inference, including Bring Your Own Key requests.
Why it matters if you build agents
Agent builders can reach Hy4 through the same AI Gateway setup they use for other models, with the discount applying until the end of 2026. Because the model accepts image input and supports computer use, it is worth testing for agents that work from screenshots or drive command-line and graphical interfaces. Teams relying on the lower price should check the end date before building it into their costs.
