Circuit Mind raises $25M and launches AI agents for PCB schematic checks

London-based Circuit Mind has raised $25 million to widen its AI platform for printed circuit board design. It also launched the Agentic Verification Engine, a set of AI agents that check schematics for errors.

Circuit Mind sells software that automates much of the manual work in printed circuit board design, according to the company. Its platform places AI agents on top of a physics-based engine that checks each design decision against electrical limits, drawing on the company's own machine-readable component models and each customer's engineering rules. The new Agentic Verification Engine, or AVE, traces connections and buses against pin tables and operating voltages, and it critiques its own findings before an engineer sees them.

The company cites customer results mostly for its design application, which turns a hardware block diagram into a schematic and bill of materials. Engineers at Los Alamos National Laboratory finished a medium-difficulty board in just over four hours, against an estimated 60 to 80 hours by hand. Schneider Electric reports early evaluations pointing to a cut of more than 90% in the effort spent exploring electronic architectures.

The $25 million combines an $18.5 million Series A led by Norwest Venture Partners with a seed round, not previously announced, led by Third Prime. Circuit Mind plans to extend the platform into testing and firmware and is setting up a U.S. headquarters. Including the new money, its backers have put $33.4 million into the company.

Why it matters if you build agents

Teams building agents for hardware review now have a commercial option that checks schematics against component datasheets and customer checklists. Anyone evaluating it should treat the reported time savings and cost reductions as company claims and verify them on their own boards.
