Meta has bought Conductor, which lets users start software projects by deploying several agents into parallel workspaces. Meta confirmed the deal to TechCrunch but did not provide further details about it. Axios first reported the news, and Conductor announced it on its blog.

Conductor was founded in 2024 and launched its core product last summer. Its agentic teams can run in the cloud, locally or from a user's phone, and the agents they use come from labs such as Anthropic and OpenAI. CEO Charlie Holtz said the company has something new planned for customers by early next year.

Until early next year, Conductor's core features will keep working as they do now. The exception is the cloud service, which shuts down on November 20, after which the company will start deleting user cloud data. Meta launched its own coding agent, Muse Code, in August.

Why it matters if you build agents

Developers who use Conductor's cloud service need to move their work and data before November 20, because the company will begin deleting cloud data after that date. Teams using its local or phone features have until early next year to plan a replacement. The deal shows Meta adding coding agent tooling to its lineup alongside Muse Code.
