Wabi raises $55M at $1.25B valuation for its personal agent that builds mini apps

Wabi, which now calls itself a personal agent, says it has raised $55 million at a $1.25 billion valuation. IVP led the round, and the company was founded by Eugenia Kuyda, who previously founded the AI companion app Replika.

Wabi began as a tool that let anyone build apps from prompts. Last month it pivoted toward an AI messenger, with the relaunched product, referred to as Wabi 2.0, designed to build the interfaces a user needs to get things done.

The company suggests Wabi could generate mini apps for meal planning, tracking local restaurants, planning date nights, creating fitness plans and designing trivia games. Andreessen Horowitz, Forerunner and the Amazon Alexa Fund also took part in the round, along with angel investors including Shopify CEO Tobi Lütke and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff.

The round comes as investors put money into AI agents more broadly. Instinct reportedly raised another billion dollars at a $10 billion valuation in September, and Tolan raised $30 million for its AI companion.

Why it matters if you build agents

Builders of consumer agents can see Wabi's pivot as an example of agents generating task-specific interfaces on demand rather than only returning text. The funding does not bring any new API or developer tooling, so there is nothing for builders to integrate yet. Teams designing personal agents should watch how users respond to generated mini apps before copying the approach.
